Funny sight on the way home

Post by Ehwmatt on Tue Mar 02, 2010 4:28 pm

So, a slight traffic jam on the way home from work, very unusual in Cleveland unless there's an accident. You just gotta laugh when it's a student driver car, single-car accident and the car bumper is smashed in Laughing Laughing

I don't think he/she is going to pass her in-cars Wink

Just imagine how embarassing that had to be for the kid. That's when you roll down the window and fire off a few obscenities while passing by just to add a little insult to injury.

That brought back memories! When I was growing up, my neighbours across the road had three kids, 2 boys and a girl, a couple of years older than me. The eldest kid, Bobby, was a real rev head, and an appallingly bad driver. From the time he got his licence at 16 til he moved out when he was 21, he went through 6 cars in total, and there was always a car of his sitting on his parents front lawn that he was working on. The guy buffed up pretty well from all the panel beating he had to do.

Anyway, his younger brother Nick got his learner's permit, and Bobby's car was yet again off the road, so they borrowed their Dad's car for a driving lesson, on a weekend both parents were away. We got treated to the spectacle of them being brought home by the tow truck, Daddy's car a total mess. Nick's second driving lesson ever, and he ran right into the back of a BMW at 60kph. Worse yet - because they hadn't asked permission to borrow the car, they didn't know Dad's insurance wouldn't cover them; took them both six months of extra shifts at their part time jobs to pay off the other car. I think they're probably still paying off their father's car every Sunday over the family dinner.

Scares the hell out of me that they are both now taxi drivers. From what I can tell, Bobby is still just as bad a driver.

Yeah, the penalties of being back at Uni - I keep writing mini-essays every time I have a damn thought.

So, where's my damn critique, huh? What's my score? Did I keep my high distinction average?

I was doing nothing more than giving you a hard time. Your stories are always interesting. But if I had to grade you ... 91/100.
